Stuff I am into

I am full-time involved in, and fascinated by the travel and tourism industry, more specifically Travel 2.0 and Tourism’s relationship with the web. I am a designer with a love for minimal composition, color, and typography. I am easily inspired. I try to play musical instruments, but its the drums that got a grip on me as a teenager and I’ve been whacking away since. Some of the other things that get me going include responsible tourism, corporate branding and identity, social media, powerpop/triphop/drum&bass, traveling the world, getting under the skins of the destinations I visit, as well as extreme sports. I’m also a bit of a tech-geek..

My Background

I have a Degree in Tourism Management and Marketing, and I’m currently pursuing my career as a designer for City Guide SA, Eco Africa, and FanI.am. In 2008 I conducted a research study on ‘the eMarketing ability of tourism SMME’s in Cape Town’, which really kicked off my interest in online travel marketing and media.

In between that I have been privileged to travel to many different sides of the world, spend some unforgettable times behind my drumkit on stage and in the recording studio, and create pretty and functional things on my Apple Mac. I recently got engaged to the most beautiful woman in the world.
